IN the last quarter, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew 19 missions to the Central Coast including 16 road accidents and three inter-hospital transfers.
In the same period, the rescue service operating in the Hunter region attended 121 road accidents, 64 inter-hospital transfers and six search and rescue missions.
In one of the Central Coast missions, a 25-year old man was flown from Charmhaven to John Hunter Hospital with back injuries following a fall.
A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were both taken from an off-road motor cycle track at Wyong Creek to John Hunter Hospital suffering limb injuries.
Among the Hunter region casualties was a 39-year-old man who was flown from Manadalong Mine to John Hunter Hospital suffering from high pressure injection injuries.
A two-year-old boy with head injuries was taken from Cooranbong to John Hospital after being kicked by a horse.
A 31-year-old man with leg injuries was taken from Eraring Power Station to John Hunter Hospital and a 13-year-old boy suffering chest injuries after coming off his bicycle in the Watagans was flown to John Hunter Hospital from Cooranbong.
A 15-year-old youth was taken from Cooranbong to John Hunter with neck injuries after a vehicle accident and a Toronto man, 43, was flown to John Hunter Hospital with burns.
