POLICE have renewed an appeal for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from an aged care facility at Wyoming since September.
Douglas Allan, 84, walked out the front door of the complex in Maidens Brush Road at Wyoming between 10.30am and 11am on Saturday, September 12.
Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command were contacted just before 1.30pm after a search of the facility and nearby bushland by staff failed to locate Mr Allan.
A canvass of the surrounding neighbourhood was conducted by general duties police without success, and a series of ongoing searches and inquiries over recent weeks have failed to locate him.
Police are concerned for Mr Allan’s wellbeing as he suffers a medical condition that requires treatment.
Mr Allan is of white/European appearance, 180cm tall with average build, grey/white hair and pale/pink skin.
He was last seen wearing blue and grey striped hooded top, pale grey tracksuit pants and white joggers with an orange trim, and a blue coloured peak cap (baseball style).
Anyone with information about Mr Allan’s disappearance or his current whereabouts is urged to contact Gosford Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
In particular, investigators would like to speak with anyone who saw Mr Allan in the vicinity of Maidens Brush Road at Wyoming on Saturday, September 12, or who may have picked up a male person from that location on that day.
