MINGARA One - Fitness Aquatics Wellness has won a major national fitness industry award.
Fitness Australia, the health and fitness industry association, has named the Tumbi Umbi centre as the national large business of the year, in the industry.
“Mingara One is an outstanding advocate for the work of Fitness Australia and its commitment to professionalism within the fitness industry,” Lauretta Stace, the chief executive officer of Fitness Australia, said.
Fitness Australia recognises fitness businesses for quality service, customer care and commitment to industry standards.
“With more than 130 business nominations over four categories, Fitness Australia’s national awards program has received a record number of participants this year,” Ms Stace said.
“Mingara One is leading the way in managing a modern fitness business and has a vision to make a significant contribution to the quality of community life. They are a modern fitness business that has set concrete policies and procedures to ensure client safety and trust," she said.
“Their achievement highlights the real impact that fitness businesses are having on the health of the community and associated health care cost savings for the government.”
Mingara Recreation Club's chief executive officer Paul Barnett said the award meant a lot to the club.
“We are extremely proud to be recognised by Fitness Australia and feel a real sense of achievement in the work we do with our community," Mr barnett said.
"We are honoured to play a role in the industry that provides Australians with the opportunities to lead more active, healthy and productive lives."
Mingara One will be presented with their award at a gala dinner on Saturday, November 14, in Perth.
