HMAS Adelaide being cut down to size

12 Nov, 2009 08:27 AM
THE mast of the former HMAS Adelaide will be removed this morning as the process of preparing the ship to be scuttled off the Central Coast continues.

Minister for Lands, Tony Kelly, will be joined by member for The Entrance Grant McBride at a ceremony at Glebe Island this morning where the mast will be removed.

Mr McBride said safety concerns and other issues meant that the mast must be removed before the ship could be sunk and turned into a dive wreck.
