Copa skate park proposal on a roll

05 Feb, 2010 10:12 AM
GOSFORD City Council is holding a Community Consultation meeting regarding the proposed Copacabana Skate Park on Tuesday night, February 9, at the Copacabana Surf Life Saving Club.

Starting at 7pm, the hour-long consultation will aim to discuss a location suitable for a skate park and gauge the level of community support for the project.

Gosford City mayor Chris Holstein said that community feedback was instrumental in the development of the project.

"It's important that council continues to work with individuals and community groups to ensure the proposed skate park development is a good fit for the community", Cr Holstein said.

The proposed skate park is in line with Gosford City Council's Skate Park Strategy, which primarily addresses the needs for skate parks across the city of Gosford. The skate park strategy was the first of its kind to be developed and adopted in an Australian local government.
