BREAK Thru People Solutions will open its new training facility at The Entrance on February 11.
The organisation is supported by the Australian Government under the Teaching and Learning Capital Fund (TLCF) for Vocational Education and Training (VET). It provides training accessibility to students, including people with a disability, learning difficulty, educationally-disadvantaged students and people from an indigenous, culturally or linguistically diverse background.
Break Thru’s success in Investing in Community Education & Training (ICET) included the establishment of 10 new training sites (plus one existing)located in Wyong, The Entrance, Toukley, Wallsend, Maitland, Penrith, Mt Druitt, Liverpool, Aitkenvale, Woodridge and Preston.
This will enable Break Thru to provide targeted vocational and employment skills training and greatly enhance accessibility to training for a range of job seekers. Other benefits of ICET include additional resources, the installation of computers, furniture (including ergonomic furniture), assistive technology and learning software.
Break Thru CEO Ross Lewis, who will officially launch the training facility, said: “ICET is a realisation of a Break Thru goal to provide state-of-the-art training facilities that are accessible to all job seekers, so we are ecstatic to be able to launch it here in the Central Coast.
"We would also like to acknowledge the significant contribution made by Wyong Shire Council, to help make this happen.
"Through ICET we are able to tackle the increasing multiplicity of barriers confronting many people in the Central Coast and, by working with the community, together we can affect real and lasting change to the lives of all members of our local community”.
