NRL double header for stadium anniversary

03 Feb, 2010 10:17 AM
BLUETONGUE Central Coast Stadium will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with an NRL double header trial this Saturday, February 27.

The first game kicks off when the Wests Tigers take on The Cronulla Sharks at 5.15pm.

It will be followed at 7.30pm by the Sydney Roosters up against last season’s grand finalists the Parramatta Eels.

“We have an exciting year of rugby league ahead of us and this is a perfect way to kick it off,” stadium managing director Monique Marks said.

“But it’s not just about rugby league, we have invited representatives of the community to help share the celebrations that mark the 10th year of operations of our great stadium."

To add to what promises to be a rugby league feast Central Coast junior sporting clubs – rugby league, rugby union and soccer – have been invited to participate in half-time celebrations.

The Central Coast District Junior Rugby League will hold registration and information booths and children will have the opportunity to win prizes in the kick the ball competition or have their face painted.

The stadium will give away a commemorative poster depicting events over the past 10 years to every patron who comes through the turnstiles at the double header.

Domayne West Gosford will provide 10 in-store shopping sprees valued at $1000 each, and everyone who attends the matches on February 27 will be eligible to enter.

All four NRL clubs will have their team merchandise on sale.

Tickets for the matches are available at all Ticketek outlets including Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium Ticket Office or www.ticketek.com.au, or phone 132 849.

Gates will open at 4.30pm.

Reserved seating: Adult $25, Concession $20, Family (2 adults + 2 children) $60.

General Admission: Adult $17, Concession $12, Family (2+2) $47.

18,500 to watch the double header. Well done to everyone involved. Great to hear a roar go up for the Central Coast Bears. Let's bring it on, so we can have that many people every fortnight at Bear Stadium, to watch the Central Coast Bears run around. It's 10 years overdue, NRL, let's finally make it happen. We can't wait. A million population waiting to have their own team to support again.
